The always stunning Penelope Cruz was seen outside the Ed Sullivan Theater for the ‘Late Show With David Letterman’ in NYC Nov 17.

During an appearance on ‘The Late Show’ on Tuesday night to promote her new movie ‘Broken Embraces,’ Cruz shrugged off Letterman’s line of questioning regarding whether she and Bardem are getting married. When pressed by Letterman, Cruz told him that she does “feel comfortable” talking about such things.

She was looking ever-so-lovely in a stylish black frock. The “Broken Embraces” actress hopped out of her chauffeured ride upon arrival, greeting fans and posing for pictures before heading inside to promote her new movie, “Nine”.

The beautiful actress, 35, appeared on The Late Show With David Letterman but resisted the host’s line of questioning, People.com reports.

When Letterman asked her if she was engaged to Javier, 40, she answered: “I don’t feel comfortable talking about my private life in public.”

When he pressed on, she continued: “I’ve been here a few times with you, you know I’m tough. One thing I don’t do, I don’t lie about my personal life.

“It’s sacred to me. It’s my life. But I don’t give details about it because I am allergic to that.”

Letterman said finally: “So you know, but you don’t want to tell me?”

Penelope giggled, and said: “I know, but I choose not to share some things!”

Penelope Cruz and Marion Cotillard were spotted attending the New York City premiere of “The Private Lives of Pippa Lee.”

The “Nine” costars both looked lovely as they arrived at the AMC 19th and Broadway Theatre in the Flatiron District of Manhattan, posing for the paparazzi before heading inside. Speaking of “Nine,” Penelope explained that her time on the movie set was always filled with conversation given the sheer number of actresses around her.

“You have to be a very patient actor because there was no silence (on the set). All of the women, we were talking non-stop. There was always something to talk about (and) we were always together.”

Penelope Cruz attended the German premiere of her new film Los Abrazos Rotos at cinema Kulturbrauerei in Berlin on August 3. Dressed in a classy one-shoulder emerald-colored gown, Penelope posed on the red carpet for photos. She posed with the film’s director Pedro Almodovar and signed autographs for her countless German fans who had gathered outside the theater.
Los Abrazos Rotos translates to “Broken Embraces” in English. The film tells the story of dangerous love and was shot in the style of American film noir from back in the 50′s.

Penelope’s attire for this event is a vast improvement on her outfit for the London premiere, in which she donned a bright scarlet suit! But it really wasn’t her fault. Penelope’s luggage was misplaced at the airport when she flew in for the premiere, and hence has to make do what the outfit she was carrying in her hand luggage.

Oscar winning actress Penelope Cruz was in Barcelona in her native Spain yesterday (March 16) to promote her new film “Broken Embraces”. There was a promotional event for the film a few days ago in the city of Madrid, and Penelope continued to whip up interest in her new project by visiting Barcelona next.
Penelope looked stunningly pretty in a black and white spotted top and black skirt, a very elegant yet simple look. Penelope posed with the film’s director Pedro Almodovar and some other cast members, and seemed to be very friendly with a certain Spanish actor she perhaps knew from before.

The film is a drama/thriller, and Penelope’s look in the movie was an important concern for the director. According to GossipGirls.com, he told the press, “Before beginning the tests for my film I had already decided to avoid the disheveled styles, inspired by Sophia Loren, which suit Penelope so well. After seeing the photo from Vicky Cristina Barcelona, I was even more convinced about my decision.”

“I want to try not to repeat hairstyles that Penelope has worn in other films. I really enjoy reinventing her, discovering the number of characters that reside within our beautiful and versatile leading lady.”

Penelope Cruz became the first Spanish-born actress to win an Oscar by taking the best supporting actress award for her role as tempestuous artist Maria Elena in Woody Allen’s romantic comedy “Vicky Cristina Barcelona.”

She thanked Woody Allen and Spanish film director Pedro Almodovar for giving her the opportunity in the film. She also dedicated the award to her country’s actors and actress.

“Thank you Woody for trusting me with this beautiful character. Thank you for having written over all these years some of the greatest characters for women”, she said.

Spanish actress Penelope Cruz arrived on the Oscar red carpet in an absolutely gorgeous white dress with what looked like intricate hand made drawings on both the front and back sides. I think the technical term for this dress is “a vintage Balmain cream strapless gown with stunning embellishments, ruching and a baroque feel”, according to San Fransisco paper “The Examiner”. Her diamond necklace and earrings only complement the elegance of her vintage dress.

Penelope was nominated for Best Supporting Actress for playing a woman involved in a three-way relationship with a man and another woman in Woody Allen’s “Vicky Christina Barcelona”. Her win that evening makes her the first Spanish woman to have won an Academy Award. At her acceptance speech, she dedicated the award to all Spanish actors.
On a side note, Javier Bardem is the first Spanish actor to receive an Oscar. He won Best Supporting last year for ‘No Country For Old Men”.
