Katharine McPhee was spotted on the set of her new TV project “Smash” (March 28).

The “American Idol” alum looked lovely as she shot scenes for the pilot in Times Square, New York City in a printed dress with a black jacket.

In related news, Anjelica Huston has also signed on for a role in “Smash,” making it her first regular series television role.

Other big names on the roster are “Will and Grace” cutie Debra Messing, Christian Borle, and Jack Davenport.

Katharine McPhee performed yesterday (March at the White House in front of President Barrack and First Lady Michelle Obama, in honor of International Women’s Day. She sang at a ceremony held to honor the accomplishments of women from around the world on this special day, which marks the 100th year this day has been celebrated.
Katherine looked lovely dressed in an elegant silver sleeveless one-shoulder evening gown.

Katherine has triumphed in her long battle with an eating disorder after spending years struggling to be thin – she appears on the cover of U.S. fitness magazine Shape wearing just a bikini.
The House Bunny star battled bulimia in her late teens, but she insists she is growing in body confidence after taking on a regular exercise regime and developing a healthier attitude toward food.
She tells Shape, “(In the past) the more I focused on my weight, the worse my bulimia got. Now I’m more easygoing. I stopped fighting myself and became more forgiving of my body. Ironically, the weight came off naturally through exercise but no dieting.
“At my last physical, the nurse took my vitals and said, ‘Wow, you must be taking care of yourself! Your blood pressure is perfect. You’re very healthy.’ Hearing her say that made me feel better than seeing an ideal number on the scale.”

Maria Menounos and Katharine McPhee hit the rainy red carpet at the 2010 Golden Globe Awards at The Beverly Hilton Hotel on Sunday (January 17) in Beverly Hills, Calif.

The 31-year-old Access Hollywood correspondent wore an elegant red Romona Keveza dress to the big event. Maria made the best of the weather and clutched onto her umbrella as she walked down the red carpet. “Woah its pouring rain here and the red carpet is NOT covered!!!” Maria tweeted earlier. “Huge problem-what star is going to walk the red carpet soaked?”

But why is Katharine McPhee wearing a garbage bag? This is a poorly cut dress. Oh well.

Actress Katharine McPhee attended the 37th International Emmy Awards gala at the New York Hilton and Towers on November 23, 2009 in New York City.

Katharine McPhee is set to release her sophomore album, “Unbroken,” and has lined up some major appearances for Thanksgiving Day, including the “Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade” on NBC.

McPhee will perform her new single “Had It All” during NBC’s telecast of the “Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade” on Thursday, November 26th. Airing from 9am to noon in each time zone, McPhee joins performers like Boys Like Girls and Andrea Bocelli for the event.

McPhee will also perform on “Kaleidoscope,” which unites figure skating, music, and celebrates cancer survivors. The special, which airs Thanksgiving Day at 4pm/ET on Fox, features the return of cancer survivors Scott Hamilton and Dorothy Hamill to the ice, as well as performances from David Archuleta, Olivia Newton-John, and David Foster.

McPhee also recently released a version of “I’ll Be Home for Christmas” to iTunes. The Idol runner-up dedicated the holiday single, produced by Dreamlab, to the members of the U.S. Armed Forces.
