Beyonce and mother Tina Knowles attended the unveiling of the Beyonce Cosmetology Center in Brooklyn, New York City yesterday (March 5). The beauty parlor marks Beyonce’s branching out into business endeavors like husband Jay-Z. The Beyonce Cosmetology Center comes after Miss Knowles spent the earlier part of the week in Washington DC for a White House visit on Wednesday.
Joined by her mother, as well as her hip-hop hubby Jay-Z, manager Kevin Liles and rapper Trey Songz – the group was treated to White House tour and even were able to pull off an unscheduled visit with President Barack Obama.
Beyonce spent time at Phoenix Center while preparing to play former heroine addict Etta James in the 2008 film, and she was so moved by her experience there she donated her movie salary to the centre’s bosses .
Beyonce and Tina Knowles later suggested Phoenix chiefs launch a cosmetology course, and they were both on hand on Friday to cut the ribbon at the school, which will be named the Beyonce Cosmetology Center.
The school will allow recovering addicts to rebuild their lives and embark on careers in the cosmetics industry.
