The 2009 Spike Video Game Awards aired Saturday, featuring celebs from Olivia Wilde to Snoop Dogg. THE VGA’s, on the absurd dude channel Spike, feature picks from the 2009 year in gaming. And plenty of Mountain Dew product placement.
The VGA’s were predictably tacky but unpredictably star-studded! Weird! Jake Gyllenhaal, Olivia Wilde, Mike Tyson, Tony Hawk, Samuel L Jackson, Stevie Wonder, Tricia Helfer, Snoop Dogg and this UFC fighter guy (who sadly I actually recognized) were all in attendance. Happily, Kanye did not show up to make a fool of himself, because this was about video games and that’s prob way below his radar.
