Katy Perry joined Russell Brand at the premiere of his new movie “The Tempest” at the El Capitan Theatre in Los Angeles, California on Monday night (December 6).
The recently married couple seemed to be having a marvelous time as they joked around on the red carpet, with the 35-year-old Brit clad in velvet suit while his “Firework” singing bride looked lovely in a lighter hued frock.
Ready to hit theaters this Friday (December 10), the Julie Taymor directed picture also stars Felicity Jones, Helen Mirren, Djimon Hounsou and Chris Cooper.
A synopsis via IMDB tells: “In Julie Taymor’s version of ‘The Tempest,’ the main character is now a woman named Prospera. Going back to the 16th or 17th century, women practicing the magical arts of alchemy were often convicted of witchcraft. In Taymor’s version, Prospera is usurped by her brother and sent off with her four-year daughter on a ship. She ends up on an island; it’s a tabula rasa: no society, so the mother figure becomes a father figure to Miranda. This leads to the power struggle and balance between Caliban and Prospera; a struggle not about brawn, but about intellect.”
Katy Perry was on hand for the 53rd Annual Grammy Award nominees one-hour concert and show at Nokia Theatre on Wednesday (December 2).
The “Fireworks” gal turned up in a glitzy gold frock as she mingled with the likes of Miranda Lambert and Monica while tending to performance duties.
Meanwhile, LL Cool J kicked things off as host while other performers of the night included Justin Bieber, Miranda Lambert and Bruno Mars.
As for the big show, the 2011 Grammys are set to air live on February 13 at 8PM ET/PT on CBS with the major category nominees as follows:

The “California Gurls” singer and her “Get Him to the Greek” fiance both looked super posh while sporting shades and keeping straight faces as they made their way inside the popular metro terminal.
With an exciting wedding weekend up ahead for the hot celebrity couple, Brand has apparently refused to sign a pre-nuptial agreement.
Of the union, he said, “It ain’t about selling the pictures, it ain’t about doing no pre-nup.”
As previously reported, Perry and Brand are rumored to be tying the knot this Saturday (October 23) during a lavish ceremony in India where they got engaged last winter.
